If you roll snake eyes you get to roll again. You can move a maximum of two times. If your third roll is snake eyes, you go to jail.

According to official monopoly rules nothing happens. What you're referring to are house rules. The house rules I play by include that if you roll doubles you get to roll again. You roll doubles three times in a row (in the same turn) you go straight to jail... Has nothing to do with snake eyes specifically.

your get to move 2 spaces.
do not get dabbles 2 more times or you are caught "speeding" and have to go to jail. Do not pass go. Do not receive $200.

nothing happens when you roll snake eyes, you only go to jail if you roll doubles 3 times in a row.

Nothing special, it is just another shake that happens to be a double.

Your son has effectively rolled a one 6 times in a row. With six rolls of a dice there are 6x6x6x6x6x6=46656 possible sequences of outcomes, only one of which results in a triple snake-eyes. Assuming you hadn't passed your opponent a loaded dice, all these outcomes are equally likely, so you may well have got odds of 46655 to one with a trusting bookmaker for those particular six rolls. However, for this run of luck to happen at some point during the game (never mind the catastrophic consequences for the player who rolled it on this occasion) is not nearly so unlikely, though still unusual. If yours was anything like the standard Monopoly game I would reckon the pair of you had rolled the dice several hundred times during the game. This gives you as many opportunities to break into a sequence of ones at any time. So, against the chance of it happening at all during the game, I could only offer you odds of about 100 to 1.

RE:
What happens if you roll a snake eyes in Monopoly?
Growing up I remember rolling a snake eyes and going to jail. Now I'm playing Monopoly and there is a huge argument between the adults and the children about what happens when you roll snake eyes.
So does anyone know what happens when you roll snake eyes?

If you roll snake eyes, then you fo two spaces. If you rolled any doubles prior to you rolling snake eyes, you are considered "speeding" and you have to go straight to jail.

Growing up we always played that if you rolled doubles of any kind you could play again, but three doubles in a row sent you to jail.

Apart form the usual move two spaces and roll again, a variant that I play myself (house rules again) is that the player who rolls snake eyes gains a bonus amount of cash from the bank (the amount is agreed at the start before you start to play) we generally award half of the pass go rate. Depending on which version of monopoly you have it is £100 or £1m

there are 3 ways, and none of them are the only one
1) you get 200 dollars
2) it is treated like a normal doubles roll ( this is what the Rulebook says)
3) you go to Jail

There should be an instructions sheet with the game.
