I don't even know where to begin on this one.

Sounds like the "good moves" you're coming up with aren't nearly as good as you think they are, since you keep losing.

Read some beginning books on Chess...it sounds like even a basic book on chess might be able to help you.

If you're opponent is insane, you should be able to beat him...unless you're insane was well, of course :-)

Anyone who uses 4 move tricks isn't good at chess, so you'll be beating your friend in no time if you actually learn to play the game properly.

I suggest either 1. Getting some chess books and practising, or even better 2. Get a computer program you can play chess against and can read the moves from (I recommend Spike, Google it, it is free! If you want to pay for a program, Fritz is great).

There is no 'way to win' in chess. How do you win? You beat your opponient, and that requires skills. Learn to play chess properly and you will learn to beat people.

But I recommend learning from a teacher that is a professional or a computer program (Spike plays better than any human). This way you won't learn to play chess improperly.

Also, don't start with hyper-blitz games. They're too fast to learn anything. Actually learn how to play chess and how to read people and their moves. Once you do, you'll be amazed at how easy, for example, people are to beat in yahoo blitz games. Most of them play a game called 'beat the person on time', not a game called 'chess'.

It is possible to win in only two moves, but your opponent would have to move the right pawns out of the way and you to move the right pawn and then your queen and walla, checkmate. But chess is not a game of magic and practice and hard work is the only way to get better. Read books and play with a plan but be ready to lose many games before you understand how to really win.

Practice makes perfect. You need to play more. Try getting a computer chess game to practice. Join a chess club. Read some books on the subject. For every game he plays you play 5 more than him. Anything that will give you an edge over your friend. You need to catch up on his experience.

Although this won't assure you 100% chance for you to win, its worth a shot.

Try to take all your opponents' pieces, when that is done, corner your opponents king using your two rooks.

make your two rooks form a straight line across the board pushing the king into a corner of the board. At the end since the king cant move more than one space at a time, he will become trapped between both rooks.

yeah, so, its easier done than said. it looks complicated but its quite simple. give it a try and see what happens!!

The game of chess isn't about an individual move or set of moves; it's about an overall stradegy to capture his king using all your pieces (army) in concert. The Chess Master 9000 program has a great tutorial program to get you started

do exactly not ignore that triumphing in 3 strikes isn't the mark of an excellent participant. that's the mark of a poor opponent. yet definite, 2 strikes is the minimum to win for Black, 3 strikes is the minimum for White. The trend is the same, the f-pawn and g-pawns bypass and the opposing Queen checkmates the King. No massive deal.

It seems as if you have answered your own question. You friend read books and studies the game.

You need to have a strategy and calculate the tactics to carry out your strategy. Learn from your mistakes.

The game reveals its secrets in time and holds a certain fascination that may last a lifetime!

The pattern of chess is a deep and profound one. My little brother always beats me, and he has been practicing for years. Just practice. Keep trying. You're bound to beat him sometime.

You have to control the center of the board. Develop your two center pawns, your two knights, and your two bishops first. Exchange pieces every chance you can. Good luck!

it take much practice and understading of the game you have to play a while and learn where and when to move and not to move

well if your new you may think your moves are good, but in other people's opinion your opponent tricks you so they can checkmate the king
