Rainy Days are not always a negative. This is a great time to have QUALITY time with your children. Coloring is a great thing, if your children are that age. Finger-painting is too. Older children have many options- read a book out loud to each other, Parcheesi, Clue even a game of charades. Some children love arts and crafts. Pull out the glue, construction paper, yarn, mac noodles (uncooked), buttons, old fabric and go WILD. Also what is really fun is taking old t-shirts and get arts and crafts paint (wal-mart or any big store as such) and create a work of art. They can even wear it to school on that next sunny day, proud of their accomplishment. But, just remember no matter what you choose to do on a rainy day, praise your children's efforts to turning a negative into a positive.

May the sun shine another day, this to shall pass.

I regularly play lots of board games with my kids. I think it's a great way to get them thinking and entertaining. Some games are better than others. Chess and checkers are great for thinking. Payday, monopoly, yatzee, Ticket to Ride and Disaster just to name a few.
