I was heavily into Trivial Pursuit for awhile.......as it's a fun game.....interesting, and educational, if you don't already know the answers. Plus they make a dozen different versions these days, and probably a 100 knock off brands, for specific categories.

Officially, there is the Silver Screen Edition for Movie buffs, and if you don't know your old classics......you have zero chance of winning....so it's very ADULT appropiate. Young kids wouldn't have a clue.

I once picked up a set of M+A+S+H cards,.....to be used with any normal T.P. board.

They were nothing except questions about just M*A*S*H.- So you had to be a real M*A*S*H freak.

Likewise there are fun Star Trek and Star Wars sets.......all things about those series. There's a Simpsons deck. There are many unique decks.......that can be used with any board.....and as I said..............several regular versions of the game itself........with various subjects.

It's a good social game, and alot of laughs, trying to remember all that trivia.

Do you want games for two players, or games for more than two players? I like Mancala and Reversi (Othello) and checkers and Mastermind for two players.

For more than two players, I like Pacheesi, Monopoly, Clue, and Cosmic Encounters, though I think that the last one is out of print.

For non board games for multiple players, Cosmic Wimpout and Munchkin are excellent games. There are still people who love and play Magic: The Gathering, but the ever-shifting rules and editions have put me off.

I'd really have to say that Munchkin is my favorite. There's the basic boxed set of cards and and a die. You have to supply your own counters, though. Some of the illustrations and flavor text on the card are PG, and the basic description of the game is "Kill the monsters. Steal the treasure. Backstab your buddies." Or something like that. If you've ever played D&D or other role-playing games, this is a hilarious sendup of the genre. Even if you haven't played anything like this, it's a funny game.

There are a lot of great board games out there right now. Though many are not available at mainstream stores like Target or Walmart, more and more of them are becoming available there.

One of the best you can find at Target is Ticket To Ride. It's an easy to learn game for 2-5 players where you collect cards and play them to place trains on the board to connect cities and complete train routes.

Also in Target is Settlers of Catan. It's also a very good game, but I'm not the biggest fan of the game, so it's not for everyone. In the game you're trying to build cities, roads and settlements on the board to collect goods and allow you to build better things and get more points. I know it doesn't sound like fun, but it's a very good game, especially with players who are willing to trade.

One final game from Target: Zooloretto. It seems like it might be a kids game from the box, but it is one of the most devious games out there. Everyone is running a zoo and you're trying to get sets of animals, but not too many. You have to choose if you want to load a tile onto a truck or take a truck that is already there. So you can build a good truck, but then you won't be able to choose it until the next time around, and it's possible that your opponents might steal it away from you. Or, you might take a truck too early and then see that final Flamingo that you need pop up, but it's too late and you have to wait until the next round to be able to try for more Flamingos. I swear, it's better than it sounds. It's very good and one of the most Back-Stabby games I've ever played. You have to take every opportunity to hurt your opponents that you get. It's one of my favorite games right now.

Outside of Target there are even more, way more than I can list here. You can find your Friendly Local Game Store and see what they have and ask what they would suggest for a new group like yours.

I hope this has been helpful. Happy Gaming.

Okay, I am actually playing Skyrim, 2011's Year Game, and it's rated PEGI 18. It has over 305 hours gameplay, more than 100 hours to explore Skyrim. It is a Bethesda Studios production. The last series was The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. It had to do with a war in the Third Era, Fourth Seed. Then after it came The Elder SCrolls V: Skyrim. Which has Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn. Each has a different questline, and a different map. The story is based on an parahistoric continent, Skyrim. You are the choosen one, Dovahkiin, or Dragonborn, and your the only one who can stop the world from being conquered from dragons. You get to kill Alduin, the main dragon with 4 other helpers. Each time you kill a dragon, you get a dragon soul. You can join companions, thieves guild, the Imperial or Stormcloak army, for more, visit www.skyrim.uesp

Oh! "Ticket to Ride" is a LOT of fun to play! It takes NO time to learn to play, but it takes a bit of strategy to win.
