I'm looking for a board game which was popular in the 70's (perhaps) I've tried E-Bay but the results there are far from helpful. If you could provide a link to a site which has the game for sale that would be great.

How about Toys R Us?

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2265625

$11.24 + shipping

Also, several people selling it on ebay:

http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=othello+game&_sacat=0&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313&_odkw=othello&_osacat=0

Looks like you can "buy it now" for about $10 + shipping... If you're lucky enough to have a working NES, you can buy the NES version of Othello for a couple bucks.

Also available on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Mattel-B3165-Othello/dp/B00004TQMQ/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1254107058&sr=8-5

From Amazon proper, $13.99... From other people new starting at $10.48 + shipping.

For instant gratification, you can play online for free:

Scrabble is my favorite board game. I highly recommend the Diamond Anniversary Edition for a general board and the Folio edition which is easier to take with you. Other board games to try: Chess Checkers Backgammon Othello Go Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) Shogi (Japanese Chess) I've had to buy imports for the Asian board game sets. Chess, Checkers, Backgammon is much nicer to have a dedicated high-quality board for each.

I think my favorite board games are Scrabble and Monopoly. I prefer the vintage version of all classic board games (although I did just recently buy The Beatles Monopoly) but that's just me. Really, just go to a bunch of different thrift stores, there's bound to be at least one of the classic games out there. Hope I helped :)
